announcing: Book Club at Sea - January 10, 2027

some stories are best shared at sea

how the cruise works

Book Club at Sea is designed to feel relaxed and unhurried. It’s not a tightly scheduled program, but a shared travel experience with optional book-themed conversations alongside plenty of personal time. You’re always free to join in, read quietly on your own, explore ports at your own pace, or simply enjoy being at sea.

I should also mention that I’ll be hosting the group throughout the cruise. I’ll be onboard for the full sailing, helping facilitate optional gatherings, shared meals, and excursions, and serving as a point of contact so people feel welcomed and supported—without any pressure to participate. My hope is that travelling and reading together creates genuine connection, and that people leave the cruise having made new friends.

Ahead of the cruise, there will be a shared book selection for those who’d like to read in advance, with a few informal, optional conversations onboard. We’ll also create a private Facebook group for anyone who wishes to connect beforehand, share reading thoughts, and stay in touch after the cruise. Participation will always be optional, but many people find it a lovely way to build and sustain those connections.

how many people will be there?

Book Club at Sea is intended as a small group experience, so the atmosphere feels friendly and conversational rather than large or impersonal. The exact number will depend on bookings, but the goal is to create a genuine sense of connection among fellow readers.
